EDITORIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Corrections policy

Accuracy matters especially when information can affect financial decisions. We review credible reports of factual errors, outdated primary guidance, broken source links, and language that could mislead a reasonable reader.

What happens after an issue is identified

We compare the claim with primary sources, assess whether the issue is material, and correct the page when warranted. Material corrections include an updated review date and, when useful to readers, a brief correction note.

What is not a correction

A disagreement with accurate negative credit information, a request to change an external company’s records, or a request for personalized credit advice is outside the scope of this publication.

Reporting an issue

Use the method listed on our contact page. Do not include Social Security numbers, complete account numbers, credit reports, identity documents, or other sensitive financial information.
